SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – 2024 is about to go in the record books as the warmest year in Syracuse since weather observations were first originally made in August 1902.
When all is said and done at midnight New Year’s Eve, 2024 will beat out second place, 2012, by more than half a degree.

In our 122 years of record keeping, eight out the top 15 warmest years in Syracuse (more than half) have come since 2000. In addition, four out of the five years this decade show up in the top six warmest years.
