Update: 07-20-2013 08:20
Friday’s high of 95.1° fell just short of the record 97° for this date.
The arrival of some strong thunderstorms and gusty winds right around sunset, will have brought
an end to our 6 day heatwave. This has been the longest stretch of 90’s in over 20 years.
A cold front due midday Saturday, will bring some welcome relief to the area.
For the first time all week our temperatures won’t reach 90 degrees Saturday but it will remain a bit humid. You’ll notice the drop in humidity along with seasonable temperatures on Sunday.
Day 6 of of our Heatwave
Today will mark the 6th and final day of our heat wave and also be the hottest day of the hot streak. High temperatures will reach the mid 90s as the heat index reaches the 100-105° range.
Three consecutive days makes it an Official Heat Wave
Friday will be the one day this week that we challenge a daily record (97° in 1946).
thats going to be 6 days in a row!
Sure feels like Summertime!!
Here I have actually recorded 13 days already this year that we’ve touched the 90° mark.
The Summer of 2012 brought us 29 days of 90° or better temps.
