… Record number of below zero days at Binghamton NY…

This morning the Binghamton regional Airport in Maine New York fell
below zero for the 10th time this month. This breaks the old
record of 9 days in the month of January set back in both 1994 and
1968. We are now tied for the most all-time in any month. The record
we are tied with is 10 days set in February of 1979. The temperature
is not expected to be below zero the last two days of this month.

The record number of below zero days for a year is 17 set in 1968.
For the cold season November to April the record number is 15 set in
1967 to 1968. The last time we had this many below zero days was the
winter of 2004 to 2005 also with 10.

Scranton, PA and Syracuse, NY are not close to any records for the
number of below zero days.
